ceph-crash: omits cluster name
Added by Jacek S. over 4 years ago.
Updated over 4 years ago.
Description
ceph-crash systemctl do not use /etc/defaults/ceph file and do not pass cluster name to ceph crash post command so it's not working properly
Ceph version:
14.2.2
OS version:
Ubuntu Xenial R6
- Subject changed from ceph-crash ommit cluster name to ceph-crash: omits cluster name
- Target version deleted (
v14.2.2)
- Start date deleted (
08/18/2019)
- Source set to Community (user)
- Backport set to nautilus
Isn't the cluster name deprecated? What exactly breaks, is it looking for a nonexistent config file or something?

Co we are using different cluster names (as we host few of them). In case of failure crashdump will be created in /var/lib/ceph/crash, however it will not be uploaded to the cluster as ceph-crash tool will use ceph cluster instead of customised one in /etc/defaults/ceph
- Status changed from New to Won't Fix
Unfortunately as cluster names are deprecated I don't think anybody will be devoting time to resolve this. Presumably you don't have multiple clusters on the same hosts so you should be able to work around this...
