Bug #13080
closedpython-rados in PyPI / with python3 ?
0%
Description
Hello,
I am currently testing ceph, and would be very happy if python-rados was available in python3.
One of the ways is probably to package the python files in a proper package, installable from https://pypi.python.org/pypi
and tested with multiple versions of python with tox.
It's probably possible to create multiple releases, corresponding to the various stable releases of ceph.
I have seen this related email archive : http://www.spinics.net/lists/ceph-devel/msg09922.html
So the steps to install python-rados would end up being:
apt-get install librados2 pip install $RELEVANT_PACKAGE_NAME

packages for pypi are covered by #5900 - it's a good idea, it simply hasn't been finished yet.
Are there specific issues that need to be fixed for the python bindings to work with python 3, or do you just need them put in the python 3 path?
