Why do we need backport for squid, this PR was part of main before the squid was cut

you are right, it is already in squid.

@yuval, is the tag v19.0.0 for squid and is this the squid code base (https://github.com/ceph/ceph/blob/v19.0.0/src/rgw/rgw_kafka.cc), if yes then the fix is not part of squid and we may need to backport it.

i ran "git log" on squid, and saw the commit. so, I think we are good
