Description
i.e. something like:
rbd --pool=xxx pool_repair
This command should check whole set of RBD structures (snapshots, reference counts and so on), and optionally remove any unknown objects in the pool. Today I have discovered parts of some old image in the pool. I don't know how this may happen. Maybe interrupted image deletion.
(see http://lists.ceph.com/pipermail/ceph-users-ceph.com/2013-September/033843.html for example)
But I'm not so familiar with RBD data structures, so I afraid if something will go wrong after deletion. That's why such tool will be useful.
small offtopic: Is it possible that rbd_data.XXXXXXXXXXX files may be used when rbd_header and rbd_id with same XXXXXXXXXXXXX are missing ?
