Description

We should create a backend abstraction layer in the filestore. This layer will hold all the filesystem specific operations. Beside making stuff cleaner and more maintainable, it'll allow others to adapt the filestore for alternative backend.

I believe this has been addressed by last year works on implementing alternatives to the FileStore
