Description

1. include files aren't prepared to handle not getting -D__CEPH__, will do unpredictable things

2. not sure what should be done with autoconf probed results.. either isolate them so they never affect 3rd party developers, or force 3rd party developers to match configure-time build environment; first is better, need to look at feasibility
