Presently user name/password for authentication by Kafka broker are provided as part of the push endpoint URI. They are separated by : (colon). However, in cases when user name/password might themselves contain : (colon) there is no way to provide them. An alternative way is necessary such as additional topic attributes passed on topic creation.
