Description

Hello!

It seems there are bug with naming client for Cinder-Volume usage.
According to this documentation http://ceph.com/docs/master/rbd/rbd-openstack/ I did everything exactly except name for cinder user - I have used client.<name> everywhere instead default client.volumes name and get

Stderr: "2013-06-10 11:57:50.079842 7fc3aa7c4780 -1 monclient(hunting): ERROR: missing keyring, cannot use cephx for authentication\n2013-06-10 11:57:50.079864 7fc3aa7c4780 0 librados: client.volumes initialization error (2) No such file or directory\ncouldn't connect to cluster! error -2\n"

in /var/log/cinder/cinder-volume.log

I suppose that "client.volumes" hard linked somewhere in code.

The defaults everywhere are client.admin. Perhaps you've got the CEPH_ARGS environment variable specifying --id volumes in the cinder init script?
