Ceph

Hello,

I currently own a ceph cluster in luminous on debian 9 stretch.

Unfortunately, regarding #37874 and #40199 , it appears that packages has never been build for mimic and nautilus on debian 9 because of GCC version.

And for buster, packages has been built only for octopus.

The problem is, the upgrade documentation for octopus specify clearly that it's necessary to upgrade either to mimic or nautilus first before upgrading to octopus: https://docs.ceph.com/en/octopus/releases/octopus/#upgrading-from-pre-mimic-releases-like-luminous

So, a user of debian 9 seems stuck :-/

We cannot upgrade on debian 9 from luminous to mimic or nautilus then octopus, because they have no packages on debian 9
We cannot upgrade debian 9 to debian 10 then upgrade ceph to mimic or nautilus, because they have no packages on debian 10

I have searched and tested differents releases and combinations, but I am not able to find solution. (installing new debian 10 and try deb9 luminous on it, upgrade deb9 luminous to deb10, mixed ceph cluster with deb9 and deb10, nothing works)

Curently I am stuck with debian 9 and luminous, unable to upgrade neither ceph nor debian.

Please, could it be possible to build at least one of mimic or nautilus version for debian 9 now that gcc is up to date, or for debian 10?

It'll allow to jump to this version from luminous and use latest ceph release. Or jum to debian 10 and upgrade up to octopus.

If I have missed something either in documentation or a way to do this upgrade, please let me know.
