Description

All versions previous to this fix https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/18749 are unable to recover when below min size.

This should be stated in docs, and backported to at Luminous, mimic and nautilus

The fix doesn't seem to be backported according to Neha Ojha https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/17619#issuecomment-505102325, so the wording for docs doesnt need to take a backport into account.

I believe adding documentation to the master docs should be enough to address this tracker issue.

Torben Hørup: maybe, we can word it in a way which sounds more like "EC pools can now recover below min_size"?

I think it's important to convey the message that EC pools are not able to recover when below min_size, when running versions before octopus
