Description
I'm receiving a segfault when running vstart currently. Please have a look at the vstart_output attachment to see the complete output.
Steps to reproduce:- Update the Ceph repository to the current master
- Build the project
- Replace https://github.com/ceph/ceph/blob/master/src/vstart.sh#L740 by "run 'mgr' $CEPH_BIN/ceph-mgr -i $name $ARGS -d"
- Run vstart (e.g. ../src/vstart.sh -d -n -x in the /ceph/build directory)

i am not able to reproduce this issue. i have
/var/ssd/ceph/build/bin/ceph-mgr -i x -c /var/ssd/ceph/build/ceph.conf -d 2018-11-15 01:29:08.180 7fc9f2d65900 0 ceph version Development (no_version) nautilus (dev), process ceph-mgr, pid 57339 2018-11-15 01:29:08.196 7fc9f2d65900 1 mgr[py] Loading python module 'balancer' 2018-11-15 01:29:08.216 7fc9f2d65900 1 mgr[py] Loading python module 'crash' 2018-11-15 01:29:08.228 7fc9f2d65900 1 mgr[py] Loading python module 'dashboard'
what are the cmake options you are using? if "-d" is not passed to ceph-mgr, can you reproduce it?
which version worked for you? and now it segfaults? on which distro are you building ceph? is it reproducible on ubuntu, debian or centos?

Hi Kefu,
I just tested it again (based on rev acde3a4d4cf) and I can confirm that the segfault is gone for me as well.
Thanks for your help!
