Description

At least one large cluster upgrading from luminous to mimic had its' mons fall over due to heavy load that turned out to be related to the very small size of the osdmap cash on the mons (10 maps by default).

The presence of older clients may also related as that puts a heavier load on the cache.

See email thread: '[ceph-users] Mimic upgrade failure' from Kevin Hrpcek <>
