Feature #3092
closedsepia burnupi: pxe image for upgrading and configuring burnupi RAID firmware

Updated by Anonymous over 11 years ago
A PXE image that, when booted on burnupi:
- given kernel command line option "burnupi-raid-upgrade": upgrades RAID firmware to what's included on the initrd (if necessary).
- given kernel command line option "burnupi-raid-reconfig": reconfigures the RAID in near-JBOD mode.
This works around the "foreign disk" symptom MarkN has experienced. without losing disk contents.

I have a script that does this and a PXE image its just not 100% automated by selecting it in cobbler via kernel command line options. Honestly I didn't want a miss-click to possibly re-configure the array which I found changes all the disk UUID's and makes the machine not boot anymore and I have already since flashed and re-setup the array on all the machines. I am inclined to just close this out unless we really want it 100% automated.

Resolving per sage as current setup should be adequate for quickly flashing machines and re-configuring the raid.
