probably something similar the osdcap, like

allow config-key [prefix foo] [g][p][e][l]

(for get/put/erase). 'r' could be synonym for get+list, w for put+erase.

then we could give each osd.N key get and put access to 'prefix osd.N/' for all of its stuff..
