if Timer() is used with no archive_path, it doesn't create any output; it would be nice if run_tasks() could gather the mark data and output it in some summary form for humans, perhaps with a total start/end/elapsed time for the run, and individual entries for time in each task (deltas between marks). The data isn't so long as to be overwhelming, and the utility of noting what took perhaps longer than expected might be large.

This is a good idea. A little effort put into making the output concise yet understandable would be nice.
