Description

It looks like something happened in the chain of dependencies in Ubuntu 14.04 recently and the package uuid-runtime which has the binary uuidgen is no longer installed. Or maybe it is because the policy regarding Recommended packages changed ? In the output of install-deps.sh:

Recommended packages:
  uuid-runtime python-dev-all

and a number of make check tests fail with 

../test/libradosstriper/rados-striper.sh:25: run:  uuidgen
./test/libradosstriper/rados-striper.sh: line 25: uuidgen: command not found

etc.

The commit that caused the problem is 62bfc7a1ab1587e81ed3bff0ddfbb1aa69d1c299
