| 3 | First, go to the list of open pull requests for the release you are interested in. In other words, from http://tracker.ceph.com/projects/ceph-releases/wiki/HOWTO click on the link to, e.g., https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pulls?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Apr+milestone%3Ahammer |

| 5 | Scan all the new incoming pull requests. |

| 7 | If they were created by you, then as a member of the *Stable releases and backports* team you are responsible for ensuring that they are well-formed (link to backport tracker issue, etc.). |

| 9 | If they were created by another team member, you can ignore them. |

| 11 | The pull requests that need attention are those from non-team members. Here there are several possibilities: |

| 13 | # pull request is not assigned to anyone - in this case you can assign it to yourself and make sure the pull request is well-formed, tracker issues are properly created, etc. |

| 14 | # pull request is assigned to you - here again, you can check it and do the needful |
||
| 15 | # pull request is assigned to a different team member - you can ignore it |
||
| 16 | # pull request is assigned to a non-team member - since non-team members cannot be expected to know the backporting work flows, in this case you can re-assign it to yourself and do the needful |
