Bug #9942
closedDebian armhf packages are missing in latest repo updates for Debian in Firefly and Giant
0%
Description
I'm trying to install Ceph with ceph-deploy on a armhf cluster but it failed:
[MS0][ERROR ] RuntimeError: command returned non-zero exit status: 100
[ceph_deploy][ERROR ] RuntimeError: Failed to execute command: env DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive DEBIAN_PRIORITY=critical apt-get q -o Dpkg::Options::=--force-confnew --no-install-recommends --assume-yes install - ceph ceph-mds ceph-common ceph-fs-common gdisk
Looking into the ceph repo I can't find the armhf packages anywhere for the latest Ceph releases.
In http://ceph.com/debian-giant/dists/wheezy/main/binary-armhf/Packages only the following packages are listed:
Package: ceph-deploy
Package: libcephfs-java
Package: radosgw-agent
When I look in the pool of packages no armhf package is available.
If armhf is still supported all packages should be in the repo.

we don't (and never have) built armhf packages for ceph.com.
we do have a bunch of armv7l hardware and did build packages for a bit but it's been neglected recently. would love to have someone help get that working again!
similarly, if someone is willing to work out the cross compiling stuff to do builds for armhf, we can add that into the mix.
