compiling manually on the trusty i386 machine to find out why 

FAIL: test/mon/osd-erasure-code-profile.sh

because the content of the log file does not show.

forced rebuild to assert it is a transient error. Running 

while : ; do test/mon/osd-erasure-code-profile.sh ; done

for one hour on gitbuilder-ceph-tarball-trusty-i386-basic did not trigger any error.

force rebuild fixed the issue. It is likely to be a race when grepping the logs.
the proposed fix closes this race
