Description

We need to make high performance kernels available in teuthology for performance testing. This might be as simple as just using the default ubuntu kernels or as complex as compiling our own performance kernels and putting them up on gitbuilder. Our default debugging kernels appear to add quite a bit of overhead at this point that could potentially hurt performance on higher end nodes and mask issues that would otherwise show up.

Actions #1

Updated by Sage Weil over 10 years ago

  • Subject changed from installation/targeting of high performance kernels to select kernel flavor

we now have a debug kernel gitbuilder (that uses teh config we had before) and the -basic gitbuilder is now using the default distro config.

i think the only missing piece is the ability to specify in the kernel task (and the schedule_suite.sh script, or its replacement) which kernel flavor to use.

  • Target version deleted (sprint10)

If this isn't assigned to anyone, it can't be in a sprint.
