Insufficient error checking can lead to empty intermediate file(s) that could result in incorrect output listing all rados objects as missing ( and therefore, gaps ).

If the /tmp space is insufficient for all necessary `sort` command use, the command can exit and create an empty intermediate file.

Error checking should be added to catch this scenario, as well as providing an option to specify an alternative temp space.
