Description

I'm trying to change the prometheus retention time via spec file as described in the quincy (and latest) docs [1], but it fails. For Pacific [2] the specs don't work either:

host01:~ # cat prometheus.yml
service_type: prometheus
placement:
  hosts:
  - host01
spec:
  retention_time: "4w"
  retention_size: "1GB"

host01:~ # ceph orch apply -i prometheus.yml
Error EINVAL: ServiceSpec: __init__() got an unexpected keyword argument 'retention_time'

host01:~ # ceph versions
{
...
    "overall": {
        "ceph version 17.2.3 (dff484dfc9e19a9819f375586300b3b79d80034d) quincy (stable)": 18
    }
}

I think the code to enable this came after the initial Quincy release. Is it possible that the docs were backported but not the code?

The changes in the documentation and the code are in the same pull request: https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/47943
