Bug #57901

s3:ListBuckets response limited to 1000 buckets (by default) since Octopus

Added by Joshua Baergen 3 months ago. Updated about 2 months ago.

Description

Since Octopus, s3:ListBuckets is limited to rgw_list_buckets_max_chunk buckets in its response due to loss of truncation handling.

I took a look through other uses of the bucket listing operation and there are some cases that look to have never handled truncation correctly; the ones that attempt to handle truncation appear to have been updated correctly during the offending change, so this appears to be the outlier.

https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/48559 posted to fix this in main.
