Feature #57515
openThe way to know the data format of each OSD and MON was created
0%
Description
Users sometimes hit problems only in OSDs created in older Ceph versions.
Here is an example.
pacific doesn't defer small writes for pre-pacific hdd osds
https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/56488
This problem only happens in pre-pacific OSDs. One possible workaround is
to delete these old OSDs with the old data format. Then users want
to know the data format of all OSDs to decide which OSDs they should delete.
The other options are the Ceph version in which OSD was created or OSD creation
timestamp.
I believe the same feature is useful for MON because MON's data format can be
changed in the future.

I'd like to backport this patch to quincy and reef, so could you add the backport tags to this issue?
