Bug #53374
mgr/dashboard: monitoring: refactor into ceph-mixin
100%
Description
Use mixin to produce dashboards and alerts¶
Target persona¶
Ceph Cluster Operator
Context¶
Mixin is a way to bundle dashboards, prometheus rules and alerts into
jsonnet package. Shifting to mixin will allow easier integration with
monitoring automation that some users may already use for projects like
kubernetes, node-exporter, rook... You can find related mixin documentation
here https://monitoring.mixins.dev/.
The idea would be to generate dashboards and alerts in the ceph tree in this
"standard" way with a very basic transformation first.
Design¶
To bring this feature we need:
- To generate alerts using jsonnet
- Generate both alerts and dashboards in a common place
The change to the produced yaml and json should be minimal
at first and other improvements specific to mixin (i.e.:
additional configuration should be added in the future).
