The concern about lack of internet access is fair. This is how we used to run our storage clusters at MSI and it sounds like it's not necessarily uncommon based on Dan's comments. There's probably no easy automated way to solve this, but perhaps there might be some side-band way to warn sysadmins that a particular upgrade should be avoided?
