Octopus is version 15.2.z.
Centos 8 comes with kernel version 4.18.
Centos 8 is mentioned on https://docs.ceph.com/docs/master/releases/octopus/ as of 12 Jun 2020. The page says that a Centos 8 Ceph package is built, and that a Ceph container image based on Centos 8 is available.
Though this is not currently on docs.ceph.com, I can see that the chart below is present as of commit e6fccf6f381e37b38956f3efc33f5c4938a663e1 :

I confirm that there is a row in this table that mentions Centos 8, and that this line appears when I build the docs locally and examine them at localhost:8080. Currently this row appears on docs.ceph.com here: https://docs.ceph.com/docs/master/start/os-recommendations/
I suspect that this is enough to put this issue down.
