https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/28525 was opened against mimic, but the bug exists in master.
Please open a PR targeting the "master" branch and include this line in the commit message:

Also, as @Neha . wrote in the PR:
we can use this PR to document mon_max_pg_per_osd as well
(That was already done in master by 4c7df944c7f28232873ba681eedce72cdb062ea5 - so this would need to be cherry-picked to the stable branches when backporting this fix.)
