As discussed with Ricardo Dias @cephalocon 2019 a request for "annotations" in grafana [1]. It should be configurable what ceph commands / events would trigger an annotation. Ricardo pointed out that probably the best place to look for candidates for annotations would the events processed by the manager and filter on those.

Usecase: To be able to correlate "metrics" with "events" in the dashboard. It will be immediately obvious what was the reason for a sudden change in cluster behaviour (and metrics). It will makes things more evident more quickly. No need to check for "ceph-audit" or logs to figure out what happened.
