Attached is a timepicker suggestion on how to address improving the timepicker, which covers all the Grafana timepicker elements.
Note: For the timepicker combo box, which provides pre-defined time ranges as well as ability to customize time range (similar to what's in Grafana Quick Time Ranges) -- see http://www.daterangepicker.com/ for example and sample code.

This is a great improvement, thank you. The only element I'm somewhat worried about is the circular arrow (1), I somehow would be tempted to click it for forcing a refresh of the graph...
