The purge functionality seems to replace the `remove` functionality in newer Ceph versions. It might make sense to remove `remove` when implementing `purge`.
Dashboard - Feature #35811: mgr/dashboard: Implement OSD purgehttps://tracker.ceph.com/issues/35811?journal_id=1266732019-01-02T13:19:56ZPatrick Seidensal

If `ceph.conf` is supposed to be adapted automatically on purge of an OSD, I don't think the dashboard (as mgr module) can do that by itself. The orchestration layer might offer something useful. I'd add that functionality in a second step (follow-up issue) if it's not yet possible using the orchestrator.
Dashboard - Feature #35811: mgr/dashboard: Implement OSD purgehttps://tracker.ceph.com/issues/35811?journal_id=1274512019-01-15T10:17:27ZPatrick Seidensal
