Documentation #3391
closeddoc: add instructions on snapshot reversion
0%
Description
There is documentation around how to make a snapshot of a pool and remove one, but nothing on how to revert to a snapshot. Is this an omission? (from Wido)

Also note that pool-wide snapshots can't be used at the same time as object-based (such as rbd) snapshots in a given pool.

Actually, this isn't a documentation oversight. There's no means of rolling back an entire snapshot on a pool visible in our help. It is certainly possible to do "rados -p rollback {object-name} {snap-name}. This doesn't apply to the entire pool though. Newer usage moved to "ceph osd pool", and this does not have any usage to rollback a pool to a particular snapshot either.

This bug has been judged too old to fix. This is because either it is either 1) raised against a version of Ceph prior to Luminous, or 2) just really old, and untouched for so long that it is unlikely nowadays to represent a live documentation concern.
