Description

trying to get started with Ceph and following docs [here](http://docs.ceph.com/docs/master/install/get-packages/)
after adding the repository info, like this:
`sudo apt-add-repository 'deb https://download.ceph.com/debian-luminous/ artful main'`

and then `sudo apt-get update` i get this error:
`the repository 'https://download.ceph.com/debian-luminous artful Release' dose not have a Release file`

although it is possible to skip this step by adding [allow-insecure] to sources.list for Ceph, but then we get
Environment:
  • Ubuntu 17.4
  • Ceph 12.2.2 luminous

History

#1 Updated by Nathan Cutler over 5 years ago

download.ceph.com does not have Luminous packages for Ubuntu 17 ("Artful"). For Luminous, Xenial is well-tested.

#2 Updated by Patrick Donnelly over 5 years ago

  • Project changed from Ceph to devops
  • Category deleted (documentation)
  • Status changed from New to Rejected
  • Tags deleted (ceph-deploy)

As Nathan noted, we don't have packages for Ubuntu artful. Please use a LTS Ubuntu instead.
