Description

A method for traces of bucket index data for deleted buckets has been proposed by Casey Bodley. This issue tracks progress on implementation.

I had some thoughts around this one. It seems to me that we could have some entity (e.g., a special user) on which we can hang all the retired buckets and have a service thread that purges them. We can add a new metadata log entry that will trigger the bucket retirement. Buckets that are retired will have their data sync disabled so that this whole operation would not affect other zones (that will do their own retirement).
