Description

If you set the pool compression type option to something like snappy, existing bluestore OSD's will then start compressing data. If you then create a new OSD and introduce it to the cluster, data will not be compressed on the OSD, until you re-set the pool compression option.

Confirmed by a 2nd person here: http://lists.ceph.com/pipermail/ceph-users-ceph.com/2017-December/023192.html

I am running v12.2.0
