As mentioned in https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/17023#issuecomment-322392667, it would be nice to let the user specify the data-pool to mirror into when adding a peer. This would allow mirroring from, e.g., a replicated pool to an EC pool.
I'm planning to start work on this shortly, just wanted to make note of it here for tracking.
