Description

Alex Elder reported that he was having permission problems accessing the ceph-client git repository here https://github.com/ceph/ceph-client.git When viewing it via github, there is a warning:

"Failed to load latest commit information."

I've never seen this before, but wanted to make sure a bug was filed in case this is related to Alex's permission issue.

I see it regularly - AFAICT it just means their blame-like thing didn't work. I suppose it has to do with the repository size - Linux kernel is at least an order of magnitude bigger than ceph.

Ilya pointed out to me that my remote URL used git protocol.
:ceph/ceph-client.git
Apparently that no longer works. I switched to using this:
https://github.com/ceph/ceph-client.git

That now works.

The web interface thing seems to have been unrelated to my
access problem. Things are better now for me, so this issue
can be closed.
