Description
I think the right place for the large files we currently have in download.ceph.com/qa is not good, since that hosts some important services
It would be better to move the qa stuff from download.ceph.com/qa to qa.ceph.com/qa on another host and have easy permissions for ceph members where they
can upload large test files,

This needs to be externally accessible (outside Sepia VPN) I'm guessing?

Yes it should be accessible outside sepia vpn just like the current one in http://download.ceph.com/qa, and also have some easy mechanism for users to upload/download files. Thanks

Vasu, what if we provided a place that all QA folks could upload to, e.g. drop.ceph.com/qa, but left the existing things at download.ceph.com/qa ?
My reason for that proposal is that it would be really unfortunate if someone modified/removed files that are used by long-standing tests. But I certainly agree that QA should have a place to put useful things that are publicly-accessible.

Zack, Sure we can leave the original as is, I agree it would be bad if some modified/removed a file unknowingly, QA can use the staging area for various testing. Thanks

What size files are we talking about and how much total space do you think you'll need?
Trying to determine where this should be hosted and where the storage should be.
Also, what sort of 'easy mechanism' are you thinking? Simple sftp or some sort of web GUI (a la dropbox).

file size will range from 400mb to 1.4gb iso/qcow2 images or such, I think 40 to 60 gb should be sufficient for most tasks.
Also sftp will do, i do have sftp gui clients that I can use, not sure about any web gui clients. Thanks

Service set up at drop.ceph.com.
sftp access granted to Vasu, Rakesh, and Shilpa.
Also set up http service so the qa dir is browseable.
