Description

Per a conversation with Ben England and Mark Nelson, I'd like to run a development feature we're adding to the perf tool to look for "false sharing" in Ceph. We've detected some on our system in Westford using slower disks. Mark suggested using a setup in the Sepia lab because the faster storage would provide a better opportunity to make the Ceph cpu processes the bottleneck.

The output of running "sepia/new-client USER@HOST" is:

joemario@blazingsaddles kerspLd4P+AD/MqKCsCWIQ dc57b36aea9637f5a6ee4a8dc7e7048435622e6cfa5f42d00779454e322ffa0f

My public ssh key is:
$ cat /home/jmario/.ssh/id_rsa.pub
ssh-rsa AAAAB3NzaC1yc2EAAAADAQABAAABAQC2ygJtpSPcOwu/2DupIxx9LSqS+iNPH0SQ4tFt5T6ZDEtuAIcgJjxnKO2nSAayh/d999MU8xG9LbRCIiFwUNGRXxj+e4s2ArHNASezdlosJBzONBYnbqD+Wr0upsol56MvehFVZrcQxfkUDtklWFiz06DgE6K51g8bvkv/qblm/j6t1SMRK77aZmoar3+NTLN8IqXj6S9yhggeRiaNybd41ibCB5o8ltBdyeZYFUzOngI8++ZVKMp2ZMV9NFeqG0hJM9KOxDcc2BzTSrs0ChVgG0bPFSTtGGel+Hi2n5htp/+FlhCcz4stXJlHf0EUj/fmlsqrZi5RtR13k2Y418QD

Let me know if there is anything further I need to do.
Thank you.

Hi David:
I am getting AUTH_FAILED errors, as appended below.
To restart clean, I've now rerun "new-client".
The updated output from that (for you) is below.

  1. sepia/new-client joemario@blazingsaddles
    Please submit the following line to the OpenVPN admin:
joemario@blazingsaddles OOyTBGVn2N5lN0wfRqzxhw cbd8a6fc9596277a233b6d9113e3a2844718ff902b8f5a087ba474c7e06ab86d
Can you update your "new-client" output for me? I will update my password in the openvpn network client (from the 2nd line in the secret file).

Thank you.
Joe Mario

I changed your user string on the server. Try again and let me know how things go.

Hi David:
I am now able to create the VPM and get to the login prompt for teuthology.front.sepia.ceph.com.
Thank you.

However, when I try to login using "ssh " and my password for this tracker.ceph.com acct, I keep getting "Permission denied, please try again."

Is that the account name and password I should be using?

Thank you.
Joe

Your user was set up as 'jmario' so you'd:

ssh -i /home/jmario/.ssh/id_rsa jmario@teuthology.front.sepia.ceph.com
