master doesn't pass testsnaps while changing replication

Description

To reproduce:
1) start up cluster (I used 4 OSDs, 1 mon/mds)
2) start testsnaps
3) change pool replication (I set it to 3)

See: Error: oid 22 read returned error code -2 pop up a lot.

With one test each way it doesn't seem to be a problem if you start the change in replication before you start testsnaps. Logs and a dumped osd core file are available in kai:~gregf/logs/testsnaps.
