Looking at the radosgw-admin usage show get_obj bytes_sent output for a user with 500MB to ~1.1GB objects being streamed or partially downloaded, the Civetweb RGW appears to be recording that the entire size of an object has been sent for every single request, even where it's clear from logs that the connection was aborted mid-download. This results in usage numbers orders of magnitude over true usage. This has been observed on Firefly.
Ceph - Bug #2873 (Resolved): Stack trace thrown when using obsynchttps://tracker.ceph.com/issues/28732012-07-31T11:27:46ZMatthew Wodrichmatthew.wodrich@dreamhost.com

Currently there is no way to simply delete a user without first going through and emptying then deleting its buckets. It would be incredibly useful from a user management perspective to be able to use a flag on radosgw-admin user rm along with --purge-data to mean that all data should be purged and the user removed once that is complete.
rgw - Bug #1856 (Resolved): It is possible to look up an rgw user by a subuser that does not exis...https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/18562011-12-22T11:02:50ZMatthew Wodrichmatthew.wodrich@dreamhost.comrgw - Bug #1855 (Resolved): Creation of a subuser that appears to own an s3 key is possible, and ...https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/18552011-12-22T11:00:26ZMatthew Wodrichmatthew.wodrich@dreamhost.comrgw - Bug #1854 (Resolved): Deletion of an rgw user that has a subuser with a swift key leaves be...https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/18542011-12-22T10:58:43ZMatthew Wodrichmatthew.wodrich@dreamhost.com

Creating an rgw user with a subuser and swift key and then deleting the user appears to orphan the object for that subuser in .users.swift.
Running radosgw_admin user create with access/secret keys specified should render --gen-access-key and --gen-secret meaningless, but when running without access/secret keys specified or if for some reason the values for access/secret key are invalid, setting --gen-access-key=false and --gen-secret=false should cause it to fail out instead of generating keys anyway, which it currently does.
Ceph - Feature #1396 (Resolved): Environment variables to specify secure connections for source a...https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/13962011-08-12T11:58:47ZMatthew Wodrichmatthew.wodrich@dreamhost.com

rados df produces negative numbers and other incorrect bucket sizes! this means we have no way of easily knowing the size of a bucket at the moment!

I think I managed to created a bucket called 'foobuckat' on both my account (webid matwod) and Sage's account. I think this is due to my buckets being inaccessible at the moment because of the issues that have recently been happening.
