Description

Ubuntu 18.04 was released on April 26th 2018, there should be official Ceph packages available for this version. [1]

Canonical is currently packaging an almost recent version of Ceph in Ubuntu repo but this packages differ a lot from the official
packages causing breakage for automation and orchestration tools that has used the official packages before.

That would really be cool. Is there a timeline? Theres are new Node waiting to installed via Ansible and I hoped I can use it with Bionic.

I talked with a person involved in the Ceph project and since Mimic is released now there are packages available for Bionic here [1].
However there is no Luminous packages for Bionic yet, according to him there might be built if a Luminous 12.2.6 is released (LTS is 12.2.5 now).

I assume this could kind of be closed now, but IMO we should get Luminous packages for Bionic for the v12.2.5 release.
