Description
Tonights release is not installable on precise servers, getting errors like:
root@controller-node11:~# apt-get install ceph
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
ceph : Depends: libboost-program-options1.55.0 but it is not installable
Depends: libboost-system1.55.0 but it is not installable
Depends: libboost-thread1.55.0 but it is not installable
Depends: libgoogle-perftools4 but it is not installable
Depends: liblttng-ust0 (>= 2.5.0) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libstdc++6 (>= 4.9) but 4.6.3-1ubuntu5 is to be installed
Looking at the repo and comparing with the previous release, which was working until yesterday, it seems that specifically the precise_amd64 packages are missing.
root@controller-node11:~# apt-cache policy ceph
ceph:
Installed: 0.94.1-1precise

Version table:

seems one of our builders is very bleeding edge =)
i checked gitbuilder-ceph-deb-precise-amd64-notcmalloc and gitbuilder-ceph-deb-precise-amd64-basic in sepia lab. they are all good.
$ dpkg -l libboost-system-dev Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold | Status=Not/Inst/Conf-files/Unpacked/halF-conf/Half-inst/trig-aWait/Trig-pend |/ Err?=(none)/Reinst-required (Status,Err: uppercase=bad) ||/ Name Version Description +++-=======================================-=======================================-============================================================================================== ii libboost-system-dev 1.48.0.2 Operating system (e.g. diagnostics support) library (default version)
so the builder which built these demanding packages should be some other one.

This also seems to affect giant packages, see http://tracker.ceph.com/issues/12156
